Memories help us but they can also trap us

The Past Does Not Define You

We need the past. Memories help us learn. They help us understand. They teach us how to become better. It can also trap us in its embrace and seduce us with its promise of certainty. It allays our fears because we know exactly what happened in the time behind us.

Here's the thing. The past does not define us. Good or bad it is not who we are now. The journey to this moment has already transformed us.

Use the past to add context. Use the past to enrich your decision-making with experience and knowledge. Don't let the past use you.

The definition of you is written anew in every moment you live.

Make every moment count and stop looking for places to hide.
