Blind spots are not necessarily insurmountable

We all have blind spots. Whether they are biological or conceptual they have the same root origin: i.e. they are the basic connection point that allows a function to take place. In the realm of ideas and beliefs a blind spot is created by a fundamental experience that has become the basis upon which other mental constructs have been built. Challenging it feels as shaky and destructive as snipping our optic nerve.

Unlike our biology we have the capability however to reconstruct our beliefs and mitigate the negative impact of our blind spots. All we need is an awareness that they exist in the first instance.
